Based in Greenville, South Carolina, Carlisle Burch is a studio artist with a keen ability to visualize and distill cerebral concepts into stunning works of art. We learned this first-hand when we commissioned her to work on our 2019 lookbook, The Current. We wanted to showcase our custom services and in house programs in a series of advertisements that would be both recognizable and memorable yet also understated and discreet.
In short, we wanted the best of all worlds and to fit those ideas into a single page for each of the four concepts we had created: Culture, Fleet, Lending Library, and Quick Ship. No easy feat, for sure, but Carlisle rose to the challenge.
“When I came to visit Urban Electric for the first time, after saying yes to this project, I realized very quickly that this is a company focused first and foremost on people—both internally and through its client relationships,” she says. “And these illustrations had to reflect that perspective. From there, it all just flowed.”
As you’ll see from the final renderings, which took inspiration from the aesthetic of the mid-century magazine Flair, the results are works of art in themselves.
